The Law Offices of Deputy & Mizell want to wish you and your family a great Memorial Day weekend!  The Lake of the Ozarks is a wonderful place to live and the area offers some amazing activities to help you celebrate this weekend.  Here is a little history about Memorial Day and some  fun events happening in our area.

History of Memorial day

Memorial day is a federal holiday in honor of the men and women who have died while serving in the US Armed Forces.  This holiday is celebrated on the final Monday of May and was formerly known as “Decoration Day”.  It originated after the US Civil War to remember and honor the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in that war.  Now, Memorial Day is extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service.  Many volunteers now visit cemeteries and memorials to place an American flag on each grave!
